assignment 2.

Going out in Breda

Going out in Breda can be a lot of fun if you know the nicest and cheapest restaurants and pubs to go to. I live in Breda for almost two years now and out of experience I selected my favorite places. There are a couple of restaurants in the city where you can have a nice dinner without paying a lot. After dinner you can go for a drink in a little bar where you do not have to pay to much for your mixed drinks. After you can go a bar where they play good music to dance to.

A restaurant I can really recommend is the 'Sinjoor'. It is located at the Van Coothplein, this is near to the center of Breda. Enduring the week you can pick a week-menu for only 16,50, this menu exists out of three starters, three main courses and three desserts. You can pick one out of three for each course.
If you want to have dinner even cheaper you can go to the Walkabout-Restaurant where you can eat a so-called 'daghap'. You pay a low price (more or less 8,00) for a main course. Everyday they have another dish. The Walkabout-Restaurant is located at the Grote Markt.

After dinner you can go to 'het Keteltje'. here you can drink all kind of alcoholic drinks for very low prices. A Bacardi-Cola for example will costs you 2,50 instead of 4,60. The bar itself is not really beautifully decorated but it is always a lot of fun to go there.

The bars where we usually go to are especially 'de Dependance' and 'the MillerTime'. You always meet a lot of people you know from school and the music they play is also good.

Of course everyone has its own taste and this is only my opinion of a good night out but if you are open to suggestions you should really give these places a try!

assignment 1.

Chanel Chique

Last week I read a book called Chanel Chique. It is a romantic and humorous book. I think you can say this book is especially meant for people who like to read. In my opinion this is a real girls-book and men will find it rather boring.

The reason that this is really a book for people who like to read is because the number of pages. The book contains more or less 370 pages so it is not a book you can read in just a couple of hours. I have some friends who really do not like to read and the first thing they say when they see this book is 'oh, but it takes ages to read this!'. Also when people can not focus on a certain story or subject for too long this book is certainly not recommended.

The subject of the book is about relationships and the problems that occur around it. Three friends make a bet about the things they like to change in their life. One girl likes to end her relationship because she fell in love with another man, the other girl wants to be engaged before the end of the year and the last girl wants to date a lot of men because she has never done that before. The situations that occur are really funny and of course a lot of romances between the girls and a lot of men are discussed.

I can imagine the book is fun to read for girls but men will think the subject is too cheesy. The way of writing is most of the time men-unfriendly and a lot of jokes are made about them.

My conclusion about Chanel Chique is clear; it is a nice book to read for girls if you just want to relax and do not want to think to hard about the subject of your book. I would not recommend it if you are not fond of reading because then it can be a long story.
